Gameloft Reveals Rainbow Six: Shadow Vanguard Trailer

Gameloft is bringing yet another of its sister company, Ubisoft's, greatest franchises to iOS platforms. A new trailer was recently released to hype the announcement of Tom Clancy's Rainbox Six: Shadow Vanguard. We don't yet know very much about the game itself, but given 15 years of history, we can make some pretty educated guesses as to how Shadow Vanguard will play.
First-person shooters have been very successful on the iPhone, with games like N.O.V.A. and Modern Combat leading the charge. However, we could see Rainbow Six mixing things up a bit. This series is well-known for its shooting gameplay, but it's also always a tactical experience. It's not just about shooting things, it's about thinking your way through tough firefights, and strategizing to make it out alive.
We heavily expect this to be a squad-based experience with the player able to control at least two other soldiers. This leads to a lot of control complexity that historically iOS platforms haven't been extremely well suited for. Heck, even regular first-person shooters are pushing the bounds of what can be done with touch controls. Adding a layer of strategy could make this even more complicated. We remain cautiously optimistic though given the level of quality that Gameloft has become known for in their iPhone experiences, namely Dungeon Hunter, HAWX, and Modern Combat among many others.
