Google CEO May Leave Apple Board of Directors
With Google set to release their own operating system (Chrome OS) next year, could Eric Schmidts days on the Apple Board of Directors be limited? This could very well be true if the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) finds a violation with anti-trust laws. Of course, if Schmidt were to stay on the board, some might believe this to be an anti-competitive relationship between the two companies, which would violate anti-trust laws.
Schmidt was quoted by Reuters saying, "I'll talk to the Apple people. At the moment, there's no issue." Hopefully the issues between Apple and Google can be set aside, as we've already seen what can happen when two large companies are allowed to collaborate on projects. Take for instance YouTube uploading with iMovie and iPhone, or the Google maps application on iPhone.
