Yesterday, Google's Eric Schmidt mentioned that there were big plans to make Google more "fast, fun and interactive." Today, we've learned that the "fun" part is all in the guessing game of the search giant's new featured, dubbed Instant Search. The new "search enhancement" shows search results as you type. So, if you're querying for the search term "antelope," Google will start reeling in results for every letter you type, like "an" and "ant," and so on and so forth. Additionally, you can also use the Tab key to auto complete, or the Down arrow key to scroll through the terms--Google calls this "scroll to search."
Google claims the benefits of this new Instant Search will include faster searches and smarter predictions. So, if you don't know what exactly you're looking for, Google could try to help you out, though we don't guarantee that searching for the meaning of life will really garner any results.
Try out the new Instant Search for yourself, but keep in mind that Google is slowly rolling out the feature today so it may not yet be available to everyone. The Google Instant feature will eventually be available in all major web browsers, including Safari and Chrome for Mac users.
