Good Mac gaming news like this doesn't come along every day, folks, so cherish this. Word has reached our ears that Grand Theft Auto III will be in the Mac App Store today, and that its sequels (Vice City and San Andreas) will follow shortly.
GTAIII is a decade old, but it still holds up fairly well. And moreover, the modern Grand Theft Auto games are still based on the exact same formula. The graphics are very dated, but it's still an all-time classic that is as fun today as it ever was.
The best news though is that GTAIII's sequels, Vice City and San Andreas, will be coming along to the Mac App Store as well. GTAIII will arrive today, with Vice City a week later on August 25, and San Andreas coming after another week on September 1.
Both games are similar to GTAIII, but both increase the quality level pretty drastically. Vice City was a highly-stylized and fun romp through the streets of a Miami-alike during the coke-crazy 1980s. San Andreas takes place in the 1990s in San Andreas (read: a mash-up of California's cities) and centers around powerful 1990s gangs similar to the Crips and Bloods.
Each game will be sold for the bargain price of $15. We definitely recommend giving one of these a try. If you want our suggestion? San Andreas is a fantastic choice.
