Nice advice, Breaking it down; you never want to extend the bend radius of the cable, especially at the connector end. When you look at a cable spec, it usually tells you what that number is. Unfortunately, the adapter folk don't publish that. So, common sense needs to take over. Most manufacturers of such items as adapters, headphones, cables, etc., don't publish the "bend radius" of their products. There is a simple rule of thumb though. "If it feels like you're bending the cable too much... STOP!

The most vulnerable end of a cable, is at BOTH ends. You do NOT want a severe bend there. Bad things can happen. So, coil the cable gently, and watch out for sharp angles at either end.
