Google's $35 streaming dongle is getting a little kick in the pants today, thanks to the addition of Hulu Plus support from the iPad or Android devices -- and just in time for the fall television season.
The Google Official Blog announced Wednesday that the Hulu Plus app for iOS and Android has been updated with support for Chromecast, the company's small HDMI dongle which allows supported apps to "cast" video wirelessly to a connected HDTV.
There's just one catch: While the Hulu Plus for iOS update released this morning does indeed add Chromecast support for the iPad, it doesn't quite yet do the same for the iPhone, although Google promises that feature is "coming very soon."
The search giant also took a moment to boast about the Chromecast currently being listed as the number one best seller on Amazon.com's electronics section, which maybe isn't saying much since it only costs $35 compared to much pricier hardware.
Here's hoping Google and its content partners can keep up the good mojo by adding additional services to Chromecast in the months ahead.
