iAd: A Different Kind of Ad in your iPhone Apps

Photo from Engadget
The moniker doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, but Apple's iAd will bring a new face to mobile advertising and a new way for developers to make money off of their applications. iAd will pair "motion plus interactivity" in in-app advertising. iAd will include interactive and video content that will not take users out of the app they're using at the moment.
Apple will sell the ads and host the data and developers will get 60 percent of the revenues. At the moment, Apple doesn't have any plans to become a worldwide ad agency, as the company says that's not exactly their forte. Though the Cupertino-based tech giant had attempted to buy a company called AdMob--that was eventually purchased by Google--they'll continue with their own contributions to push this kind of in-app advertising foward.
