iBooks Update Shipping Soon for iPhone and iPad

Not to be left out of the iPhone 4 and iOS 4 glory, iBooks will soon get an iPhone edition and iPad/iPhone update. Look for the new version around June 21 with the iOS 4 release.
The iBooks update will add annotation tools to go alongside the current ability to highlight. Readers will be able to bookmark pages and access all of those notations from the table of contents.
iBooks currently only reads the EPUB book format, but the update will store and display your PDFs. You'll toggle between different bookshelves for the two formats.
Apple will let you sync books, annotations, and your current page between all of your devices at no extra cost. Your page place and annotations will sync automatically, wirelessly.
