Google Calendar integration with iCal is one those features the Mac|Life have dreamed about for a while. Now if only Google could get to work on bio-enginnering unicorns for everyday use, we would be living in a perfect world.

Google has officially announced public support for the CalDAV protocol in Google Calendar. This means that Google Calender users that also happen to use iCal, can integrate the two programs. The new update will allow users to sync their two scheduling programs, operate offline, and answer invitations from other users.

The free Google app Calaboration is supposed to automate the process of linking the information between the two services. It is currently an open-source download on Google Code.
