If you’ve tired of Angry Birds or Plants vs. Zombies and are looking for the next insanely addictive iPhone game, The Iconfactory may have just the thing with Astronut, which just landed (pun intended) in the App Store.
The Iconfactory has a long history of great apps such as Twitteriffic and games like Ramp Champ -- now they’ve unleashed another addictive game for the iPhone in the form of Astronut, which has just hit the App Store.
“Let gravity and guts be your guide as you blast off on a planet-hopping adventure of cosmic proportions!” the app description promises. “Explore uncharted galaxies, gather star shards and avoid unfriendly life forms, all on your quest to explore the universe and become the ultimate hero.”
Featuring Apple’s Game Center integration so you can post high scores online and unlock dozens of fun, challenging achievements, Astronut lets you explore the universe by jumping from planet to planet to explore sectors and earn bonuses. Let gravity be your guide as you slingshot around worlds to earn “hangtime” points, and the developer claims that “Bigger jumps are better!”
Astronut also features stunning graphics which have been a hallmark of The Iconfactory, with 24 challenging levels and addictive, arcade-style action for both beginners and advanced gamers alike.
Astronut is absolutely free to download and play, and if you love it, you can upgrade to the full game right from within the app for only $1.99. The 35.5MB download is available now for the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad (sadly, it’s not a universal app) and thus far the reviews have been… out of this world. (We couldn’t resist!)
