Identity Crisis: DS Emulator in the App Store
Posted 08/17/2009 at 4:37:23am | by Arvind Srinivasan

Back in the day, there was this little thing called Pokémon that was a very big deal. You could get Ash Ketchum hats on the street corner, engage in card battles with fourth graders, and even watch the hit TV show. However, if you were the cool kid on the block, you would be playing Pokemon Blue version on your Gameboy Pocket.

As technology evolved, the world’s least sophisticated game was put on more advanced platforms, until, the marvel that is the Nintendo DS was built, and you could play Pokémon on two screens at the same time (yes, mind blowing). That is, until the iPod touch started to steal its thunder. Now, to satisfy any possibly DS envy that an iPod touch or iPhone user could possibly have, ZM2 Dev has released a DS emulator (in the app store now) that doesn’t have Pokémon (sadly - I wanted to relive my childhood), but has Pixel Mania, a music game, and another “secret” game. The interface is odd, to say the least, and proves that Apple doesn’t care about copyright infringement unless, of course, it is towards Apple (sucks for you, Psystar). Check out the DS emulator in the App Store here.
