iLife '09 Shipping Tomorrow
Apple announced today that iLife '09 will begin shipping tomorrow. The upgrade to the creative suite was announced at the Macworld Expo Philnote earlier this month.
The suite will be available through Apple's Online Store, and at Apple Retail stores. The suite will set you back $79, and is available to customers that purchased a qualifying new Mac system on, or after January 6, 2009, for a shipping and handling fee of $9.99 thanks to Apple's Up-To-Date program.
The latest iLife suite includes new iPhoto features, Faces and Places. Faces groups photos using the awesome power of facial recognition software. Places uses Google maps, and geo-tagging information, to create maps of your photo adventures. GarageBand's newest feature is tutorials for guitar and piano. Once you get tired of the Apple employee showing you how to play Mary Had a Little Lamb, you can learn from your favorites artists, including Sting,Nora Jones and John Fogerty.

I've been waiting for this day to come, I have to be honest I was a little upset when I realized that my MacBook which was purchased in early January didn't come with the up to date software. Thank you Apple for offering this update for $9.99, outstanding!

I'll be getting my copy tomorrow! Can't wait to start using the new iMovie. It seems to be a lot easier to use than the previous version.

It is frustrating that my laptop, purchased in December, is not eligible for the up-to-date program.

That's a bummer. Maybe they should have a sliding scale of when you purchased your machine to how much many you save.
For example, you get 50% if you bought your machine in December, and 25% off if you bought it in Novemeber.
Just a thought.

I hope Apple send me my copy, but it's not a certainty, as I've written about: www.threelionstech.com/blog
