Music Week is reporting that Snow Patrol will be the first band to deliver an interactive album application for the iTunes App Store.

The album, which will be downloadable as an application, will include a plethora of extras including, artwork, behind-the-scenes images and lyrics. Sing-along to your new favorite song while waiting for the bus.

This will mark the first time an album has been sold within the App Store and utilizes the enhanced capabilities of the iPhone and iPod touch.

The album, A Hundred Million Suns, is expected to be released in October.

Which artist would you like to see release an interactive App Store album? Drop your answers in the comments below.

Seriously, more Prince and Muse. Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor needs to create something great for the iPhone. If any artist out there understands technology and how to twist it to their needs, it's him.
