Apparently we may not see iOS 4 for the iPad until November. This comes out from a report that's outlining advertisers' plans for Apple's iAd program which is pointing to signs that the new ads won't market to iPad users until iOS 4 becomes available for it in November, according to AppleInsider.
As has been stated, iAds will go live for iOS apps on the iPhone and iPod touch beginning July 1, but Advertising Age is saying that "a check-in with iAd advertisers found that many are still in the early stages of flushing out concepts and creative."
Additionally, "some are weeks -- perhaps months -- away from having an iAd in the system." The Advertising Age report is citing "an agency exec with several iAds in the works," saying, "most advertisers won't be there on July 1; there just isn't enough time," something that is being blamed toward Apple.
The report continues saying Apple is doing "all the technical production of iAds, and telling agencies it will take six to eight weeks to produce an ad after the creative is produced."
That July 1st live date wasn't exactly something picked by the actual marketers, but by Apple instead. It "doesn't necessarily coincide with the objectives of the marketers themselves," the report continued. As for the iPad? Ad placements on "the device considered most promising for advertisers," probably won't happen until November. Certainly something to keep an eye on!
