iOS Games Sweep Every Category at Mobile Gaming Awards

Even though several different platforms had games that were nominated, iPhone gaming stole the show at this year's International Mobile Gaming Awards. The nominees were announced last month and judges were brought in to deliberate shortly thereafter. We have the results of the awards, and while some came as a bit of a surprise, others were destined for victory.
The full results are listed below:
Best Casual Game: Plants vs. Zombies [iTunes Link]
Best Real World Game: AR Invaders [iTunes Link]
Best Sports Game: Snowboard Hero [iTunes Link]
Excellence in Design: Infinity Blade [iTunes Link]
Excellence in Game Play: Beyond Ynth [iTunes Link]
Most innovative Game: Papa Sangre [iTunes Link]
People's Choice Award: Perfect Cell [iTunes Link]
Operator's Choice Award: Snowboard Hero [iTunes Link]
Grand Prix / Game of the Year: Beyond Ynth [iTunes Link]
Certain games like Plants vs. Zombies were virtually assured to have a place on the winner's podium, but a lower profile game like Beyond Ynth seems like a surprise pick for Game of the Year, especially with juggernauts like Infinity Blade in the running. However, it's always nice to see a little known gem like Papa Sangre take home some recognition for its innovation. (Papa Sangre is a game played with no graphics; players navigate the world entirely by sound.)
We'll be looking forward to the awards next year even moreso as it's been suggested that many developers didn't even know the awards were open to entrants until the entry time was over. So perhaps it's best to take these results with a grain of salt as there may have been some great games missing from the nomination process.
