In case a friendly reminder email from Apple this morning wasn't enough to jog your memory, the iPad mini is now available to preorder from the company's online store, with Wi-Fi models arriving on November 2.
Apple has started taking preorders on Friday morning for both the iPad mini as well as the new fourth-generation iPad. While there's not likely to be a crush of preorders compared to something like the latest iPhone, for those who want to have their tablet delivered right to their door on launch day, this is the way to go.
Starting at $329, the iPad mini is available to preorder in all configurations, with the Wi-Fi only models hitting retail stores on November 2. Wi-Fi + Cellular models can also be ordered online today, but those models are not scheduled to ship until mid-November.
Likewise, the souped-up fourth-generation iPad with Retina Display is also ready for your credit card, available in black or white starting at $499 for the 16GB model. Wi-Fi only models will arrive on November 2, but Wi-Fi + Cellular versions won't ship until some unspecified date in mid-November.
If you're the type who'd rather not sit around the house waiting for FedEx or UPS to show up at your door, the Wi-Fi only models can also be purchased at your local Apple retail store beginning at 8am local time on November 2.
Update: It appears fans of the "white and silver" iPad mini model are quick on the draw -- that particular model is already backordered two weeks at this writing! So much for the demand not being as intense as a new iPhone...
