The iPads are Flying!

They’re heee-eeere! Or rather, not quite yet -- but it appears that the iPads are on the way.
According to MacRumors, Apple has started shipping preorders for the iPad, beginning with the folks who placed their orders on the first day. The lucky bast -- er, lucky
buyers -- have “started receiving shipping notices from the Apple Store.”
Now, before you get all tingly and start feeling superior to your fellow man (and woman) that you might get your iPad before Saturday when the rest of civilization does (at least those buying the Wi-Fi model),
MacRumors notes that Apple has historically worked with FedEx and UPS to make sure that shipments are held until the actual release date.
That means you likely won’t see an iPad until Saturday, April 3rd as scheduled -- although we wouldn’t be totally surprised if there were a few mistakes made somewhere along the way. It happens.
For the poor suckers -- er,
customers -- who opted for the 3G-equipped iPad model instead, your wait continues, since that model isn’t expected until late April. But you’ll be laughing at those Wi-Fi buyers in a few weeks as you walk down the street happily checking e-mail and browsing websites, complete with GPS to guide you...
