iPhone 2.2.1 Firmware Update Goes Live
Posted 01/27/2009 at 3:56:26pm | by Roberto Baldwin

update

Apple has pushed out an update to the iPhone firmware. The iPhone 2.2.1 update brings the following exciting updates:

- Improved general stability of Safari
- Fixed issue where some images saved from Mail do not display correctly in the Camera Roll

For iPod touch users, the update addresses an issue with Apple Lossless audio files skipping while playing.

Riveting stuff. Bug fixes are welcome, especially with Safari and making sure music doesn't skip. We just wish it was a meatier update. Like maybe, oh I don't know. Copy and paste?

Plug your iPhone or iPod touch into iTunes for all the update fun.

Yes, cut-and-paste would be nice, but right now I'd be willing to settle for the ability to make and receive iCal invitations from the phone. Seems crazy that we can open Word, Excel, .pdf, etc but can't get a 2K .ics invitation into iCal... have to get to a computer to deal with those. Unnecessary.
