iPhone 3G Ad Banned in the UK
The iPhone is getting flak in the UK for the claim that it’s incredibly speedy on the 3G network. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned an iPhone ad after consumers complained that the commercial exaggerated the capabilities of the device.
The ad showed a close-up of the iPhone being used to surf the web, view Google maps, and download a file, apparently all within seconds. Seventeen people complained that the ads were misleading, and Apple failed to convince the ASA that the claim was relative to the user.
The ASA also banned the commercial.
This is not the first time Apple’s been scolded by the crowd overseas. You may recall that over the summer, the ASA banned a different Apple ad claiming you could have the “whole internet”, regardless of the iPhone’s lack of Flash or Java support.

How can this ad get banned, clearly there ultra nutty PC users who complained. They were all getting worried because they know nothing about Apple & there wiping out Microcrap after the failure of vista, and I hope it does. How can this ad get banned when like on Flash commercials it shows people being able to clean up a kitchen in like 2 seconds, makes no sense to me, they better bring it back. The people who complained also had know experience with the iPhone 3G so who are they to judge they no nothing, people like this are ruining the tech industry, and i think they should leave it alone.
