iPhone 4 Unlocked in Great White North

While Canadians tend to be forced to wait longer than our American allies for new Apple swag to reach our cold little hands, the deal always seems that much sweeter once the products become available. For example, when the iPhone 3G finally arrived, Canucks got access to tethering almost immediately. Late last year also saw the handset become available on multiple carriers.
Americans? Not so much.
The latest Canadian perk consists of pictures of a carrier unlocked iPhone 4 operating on the Bell network. Now, if we could only buy the handset up here, we'd be all set.
According to Engadget, the photo was released by Dev Team member planetbeing. While no official announcement of a consumer-ready jailbreak has been made yet, the photo bodes well for anyone waiting to see what the Dev Team have been cooking up to unshackle iPhone users from their currently limited carrier options. Sadly, even if the jailbreak were available this very second, without making a road-trip south, Canadians would still have to wait to try it on for size--the Canada-wide release date for the iPhone 4 handset has yet to be announced.
