The iPhone 5 may still be backordered up to four weeks from Apple's online store, but that isn't stopping Cupertino from going full steam ahead on phase two of the handset's launch.
AllThingsD is reporting that Apple is continuing to roll out the iPhone 5 on Friday, both here at home with a long list of regional carriers but also in 22 more countries around the world.
As it turns out, regional carriers may be your best bet if you want to save a few bucks on an iPhone 5, with Appalachian, Cellcom and nTelos slashing $50 off the price and Cricket offering it contract-free starting at only $499.99.
The full list of regional carriers added today includes Cricket, C Spire, Bluegrass Cellular, Cellcom, GCI, Golden State Cellular, Nex-Tech Wireless, Pioneer Wireless, Appalachian Wireless, MTA Solutions and nTelos.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 5 is winging its way around the globe at the same time, with stops in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
The only question now is: Can Apple keep up with the insatiable demand for its sixth-generation handset?
