The iPhone Dev-Team has finally unlocked
the iPhone 3G with the 0.9 beta release of “yellowsn0w”. Though it
still has a number of noted issues, the unlock will work with the
latest modem firmware (02.28.00). This means that users with an updated
iPhone 3G (version 2.2) will be able to unlock their iPhone without
have to do too much work.
Regardless of its “beta” status, reports from the Dev-Team tell stories of triumph and success. Head over to the Dev-team blog for more details and leave us a comment if you’ve managed to unlock your own iPhone.
