AT&T has gone on record time and time again about MMS hitting the iPhone "later this summer." So when a Tweet went out with word that MMS will be launched on the iPhone on July 17, we all got a little too excited.
We called our local AT&T store and asked the helpful rep if we could expect MMs next week. They repeated the AT&T mantra of, "later this summer." Then we contacted AT&T PR, and of course, we got the same information:
We have said that we will offer MMS later this summer. We have no comment beyond that. Thanks.
Bummer.
What date do you think MMS for the iPhone will be available. We'd start some sort of betting pool, but Johnny Law frowns on that sort of thing.

I agree 11:59 pm EDT on September 22, just so they can claim they made it on time.
