Fans of Walmart, and their elderly greeters, will have to wait a few more weeks to purchase an iPhone. The iPhone has missed its rumored debut date for the mega store. Sources reported that Walmart would be selling the device by November 15, but that day has come and gone, and it didn't bother dropping off any iPhones at Walmart. Just what we would expect from a rude day like November 15. We never liked that day.
New and improved rumors report a delay in the launch date, obviously, and state that the launch will happen some time in December, with a big chance of it happening after Christmas. This is probably to keep Walmart from getting their grubby little discount fingers all over the iPhone and selling them at a deep discount during the holiday season. Well played Apple, well played.
Recruiting Walmart into its army of iPhone retailers, along with BestBuy and AT&T, is a smart move on Apple's part, with 3,500 stores in the US, Walmart is a sure fire bet to not only boost sales of the iPhone, but to dominate Middle America and begin Apple's domination of the United States. Then on to Canada!

UPDATE: According to Boy Genius, Walmart has confirmed that they will be getting iPhones on December 28. Approximately 2,500 locations will sell the phone and 69 Sam's Club locations will follow suit.
