The concept of wireless charging is one that Apple has yet to embrace for the iPhone, but thankfully a successful Indiegogo campaign has made the technology a reality that's ready for purchase.
iQi Mobile has partnered with U.K.-based wireless charging experts Fonesalesman to bring the technology to the current iPhone lineup after exceeding its Indiegogo crowdfunding goal in only 10 days.
iQi is billed as an ultra-thin, ultra-light wireless charging receiver that plugs into the Lightning connector of any iPhone 5, iPhone 5c or iPhone 5s. Only 0.5mm thick, the iQi makes wireless charging of an iPhone compatible with any charging pad on the market just by setting the device down on it.
“Charging your smartphone has become a constant pain for so many people and running out of charge is something that happens way too often. That’s why we decided to create the iQi, to make charging even simpler.” said iQi creator Bavan Palasanthrian. “Our product is all about convenience for our users. We believe iQi delivers this and more.”
Fonesalesman is the exclusive distributor of the iQi Mobile, which is now available to order direct from their website starting at only £21 (US$35.99).
