After making their mark with unique iOS apps using characters licensed from Dreamworks animated feature films, the folks at iStoryTime have teamed with publishing house Esslinger to offer two new “Flip Flap” books which help children learn their ABC’s while having fun doing it.
iStoryTime has introduced two new universal apps for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad direct from publishing house Esslinger which put an entertaining twist on helping children learn their ABCs while expanding their vocabulary. Each app offers more than 17,000 word combinations, including such possibilities as Knobbly Wobbly Worm and Kissable Hyperactive Tiger.
Zany ABC Flip Flap helps children find the perfect combination of words to explain or describe a situation. The developer bills it as “the silliest wack-word generator you’ll find in the App Store,” with such funny combinations as the “Googly-eyed Mealy-playing Vagabond.” Keep the laughs going with fun narration, which reads each combination the user comes up with.
Snugly ABC Flip Flap offers the same type of experience, but offers up compliments and comic combinations such as the “Blushing Knick-knack Yak” or the “Enchanting Flute-playing Vagabond” while offering the same narration feature.
Each $1.99 app promises to bring the silliest, wackiest and funniest word combos imaginable for hours of of fun, while also being an educational tool. “Parents and their children can easily combine any three combinations of letters and illustrations to invest a wonderfully illustrated and vibrantly colored creature and mishmash of off-the-wall sayings,” iStoryTime explains.
Zany ABC Flip Flap and Snugly ABC Flip Flap are both available now on the App Store; the universal apps are compatible with both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad and require iOS 3.0 or later.
