If there’s one group that loves Apple’s iOS device perhaps even more than their parents, it’s toddlers. As every parent knows, keeping them occupied throughout the day can often be a challenge -- and one that the iStoryTime line of apps is ready to come to the rescue.
FrogDogMedia, LLC has announced their latest universal iStoryTime kid’s e-book for the iPad and iPhone, The Penguins of Madagascar: The Lost Treasure of the Golden Squirrel. Teaming with DreamWorks Animation LLC to license characters from the popular animated feature film Madagascar, the new app released this week follows four adventurous penguins in an all-new iOS adventure.
“Follow Skipper, Kowalski, Rico, and Private as well as King Julien, Maurice and Mort as The New York Zoo’s unearthing of a hundred-year-old time capsule reveals a mysterious key,” the app’s description reads. “With this cast of characters, the promise of mystery and adventure are sure to entertain and provide endless fun.”
“The Penguins have fast become some of the favorite characters of their time for all ages and we are very honored and pleased to offer kids this app and its entertaining storyline,” said Woody Sears, co-founder of iStoryTime, says of the new Madagascar spin-off.
Previous iStoryTime titles featuring characters such as Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 and DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda have won the PTPA Media Seal of Approval (Parent Tested, Parent Approved) for their extensive library of narrated children’s books for both iOS and Android devices.
Like other iStoryTime apps, Penguins of Madagascar is designed for kids two years of age and up. Pages can be turned automatically or manually, depending on the age and preference of the user. Readers can even choose the style of narration, such as an adult voice, a child’s voice or none at all.
The Penguins of Madagascar: The Lost Treasure of the Golden Squirrel is available for a limited time at the launch price of only $1.99, with other titles available at prices ranging from 99 cents to $8.99. Penguins is a 19.6MB download and the universal app is fully compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad and requires iOS 3.0 or later.
