In the unlikely event that you missed the announcement last month, Wednesday is the day that the general public can finally order an iPhone 4 from Verizon -- at least online.
MacRumors is reporting that both Apple and Verizon Wireless have started accepting online orders for the iPhone 4. Unfortunately, those online orders are showing shipping dates around February 18, so if you’re the impatient type, you might instead choose to reserve one for in-store pickup instead, which is also an option. (Ironically, AT&T models are shipping within 24 hours.)
As you may recall, Verizon started accepting preorders for the iPhone a week ago for existing customers, racking up the biggest preorder sales in the company’s history in the first two hours -- which just so happened to fall in the middle of the night. By midday, Big Red closed the door on preorders, announcing that their initial stock was all but sold out.
The first preorder arrived in the hands of one lucky customer last Saturday, and most everyone else received theirs on Monday. Now it’s time for the general public to get their crack at Verizon’s iPhone 4 -- and likely experience the long lines that AT&T customers have become accustomed to when the retail shops open for business on Thursday, February 10 with the handset in stock.
So who’s braving the lines to hit their local Apple or Verizon store and grab one?
