Late last year a new motorcycle game showed up on the App Store called iTrials [iTunes Link]. It was a physics based game in which players tried to complete increasingly insane courses as fast as possible while doing stunts and navigating obstacles. There was just one problem. There was already a game that matched that exact description called "Trials."
The developer of the latter game asked the developer of the former to take their game down. Now, after a long hiatus, iTrials is back in the App Store as MotoTrialz. The dispute between the two developers never seemed to arise out of contempt or anger, but out of a genuine fear that consumers would mix up the two franchises. RedLynx had released Trials HD on Xbox Live years earlier to much acclaim and were worried that fans of that game would confuse iTrials with an official iOS version, which is pretty easy to understand.
iTrials developer Tooko, complied with the request and put iTrials back under development. After a bit more incubation, the game is now rereleasing with some enhancements to complement the snazzy new title. They've altered the setting so that it no longer takes place in a warehouse like Trials HD, and they've also added Open Feint functionality.
