Fire up that Software Update app, because iTunes is ready for a tune up. iTunes 10.1 has just been released and it includes the following:
- ability to use AirPlay to wirelessly stream videos from iTunes to the new Apple TV
- installation of iOS 4.2 on your iPhone, iPad and/or iPod touch
- a number of important stability and performance issues

I have received a tip that 4.2 is coming on 11/19/10. Hint suggests same time as "The Beatles" announcement, but that part is NOT confirmed.
Expect around 11/19/10.

I have been trying to update my iPad and iPhone to 4.2 and it says your software is up to date (3.2.2) AND 4.1.
What gives!!!

iOS 4.2 has not yet been released. iTunes 10.1 simply gives iTunes the capability to upgrade your device to iOS 4.2.
