iTunes 10 Now Ready for Download, Finally!

iTunes 10 is now live! Finally! It feels like we've been waiting for centuries. Anyway, go and get it! Go and revel in all of its glory!
The new iTunes 10 includes Ping, a new social music discovery tool that combines the best of Twitter and Facebook from within iTunes itself. You can follow others and be followed to share your music tastes with friends and family. You can also view upcoming concert and event listings happening near you. The Ping service is available in 23 countries and to all 160 million iTunes users.
The new iTunes also promises better syncing and includes a new capacity bar, so you can tell how much space you have on your device in real time--real talk.

I just downloaded ITunes 10, synched my newer 3GS and then downloaded ringtones I made on Designer Ringtones. I decided to synch my older 3G, which I use with WiFi and I use the loaded apps, and so proceeded to download ringtones after the synch as I have done before. I got a message that stated all music and movies would be deleted from my 3G if I downloaded the ringtones. Ah, WHAT! I started my ITunes account with the 3G and have never seen a similar message. Fortunately I don't have music or movies on that device so I loaded the ringtones: nice to change it up with the apple clock--phone ringtones work there as well.

I'd say the whole interface has become a bit sterile now. It's not bad, for sure, but it's boarding on a lack of any personality.

I actually like the new iTunes logo, but miss the old one. I set up an iTunes Ping account when I got iTunes 10 yesterday, and I like Ping. However, I miss the old titlebar gradient form iTunes 9.

My Questions is: Is this just an updated version of iTunes, or did they rebuild it from the ground up? I could give a rats butt about following my friends and family (or other people) and their music tastes. I want a multimedia app that works faster than this dinosaur does.

It works ok now, or at least it did for me this morning (thursday).
I couldn't get it if I tried going through Updates on when I ran iTunes, but it worked using her link in the article.

Not sure if this is necessarily true in all cases, but one tip I'm seeing out there, is if you try refreshing the download page, eventually it should turn to iTunes 10 instead of 9.2.1. Some seem to be having success with that. Hopefully it works!

I downloaded from the link provided and the other posters are right, it's still 9.2.1 despite the fact that the link page says "Download iTunes 10." Somebody's losing their job over this!! Almost feels like the crap that ensued after the iPhone 4 debut!
