While there are a number of convincing reasons regarding internet security, terms of use, and legality behind not jailbreaking your iPhone and iPad, every day there are a growing number of reasons on the other side of the equation. Multitasking even before iPhone OS 4.0, apps that Apple would never approve, and now this.
Traditionally, the App Store has been rather cool to emulators. It took a long time just to get Commodore 64 games out there, and Nintendo games have been slow to make the transition. Make that non-existent. Best you can find in the App Store are guides to various cheats.
And for a lot of us, we'd like a little Mario action at some point. Mario Kart for the iPad? We'd be in heaven.
Via Gizmodo, enter a solid contender for one of the best reasons ever to jailbreak your iPad: the snes4iphone. Check out this list of games that are already up and running. (And for the record, we're not advocating that anyone break the law and jailbreak their iPad or install illegal Nintendo emulators that cheat game creators out of their royalties; we're just saying that the heart wants what the heart wants.)
