Few of us can actually claim to know what Apple will do this year, especially with the curveballs that the company continues to keep throwing. (Who could have seen that fourth-gen iPad coming so soon?) But one analyst believes they have cracked Cupertino's code.
MacRumors is reporting that KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has laid out predictions for how Apple's 2013 will unfold in a new research report. The short version is, it's all about Q3 and Q4.
Kuo is among the rare few analysts who have a pretty good track record when it comes to such predictions, although a quick look at the 2013 forecast reveals Apple fans may have a long wait ahead of them for new products, with only an Apple TV refresh predicted for Q1 and updated MacBook Air models in Q2.

That leaves a busy last half of the year for Apple, who is expected to release the so-called "iPhone 5S" in Q3 along with a fifth-generation iPad, second-generation iPad mini, revamped MacBook Pro with Retina Display (with a "new design"?) and finally, modest refreshes to the iPod touch and iPod nano.
Rounding out the year in Q4 are the iMac and Mac mini, although Kuo's research report completely omits the Mac Pro, which Apple CEO Tim Cook promised would get a "significant update" this year.
The mythical Apple HDTV also doesn't appear to be in the cards for 2013, although there's no word on what the Apple TV refresh due in Q1 may involve. For now, we'll have to speculate and imagine until the calendar turns toward the end of the year…
