If there's such a thing as a "private" social network, it's got to be Path. Until now, the micro sharing service has been limited strictly to smartphones, but that now changes with the debut of Path for iPad on Thursday.
Path has announced the debut of Path for iPad, a universal update to the popular social platform for sharing photos, media and events in your life with a more intimate group of your friends and family.
Arriving just in time for Friday's debut of the iPad mini, Path for iPad is much more than just a bigger version of the smartphone edition of the service. With different viewing options for both portrait and landscape modes, Path for Pad is a whole new, immersive experience for users.
"See the day on one screen and swipe to see previous days. See the check-ins and arrival moments of each day on a single map," the company explains in a blog post on Thursday. "Path in landscape-view is the best way to catch up with your family and friends, revisit days and the moments that made them special."
Needless to say, the home screen now displays more than ever before, including recent activity and your friends list alongside your home feed, which means your friend's path is only a tap away now.
Path for iPad is now available as a free download to the newly-universal app -- and for now, the company is making it an iOS exclusive, with no immediate plans to make a version for Android tablets.
