One of the unexpected gems of the last decade in gaming was the LEGO Star Wars series, which captured the spirit of all six of the films but with endearing an endearing LEGO aesthetic that manages to appeal to all ages. If you've never played it before, today's your chance. It's on iOS for the first time as of today, and you can even play the first episode for free.
Keep in mind that, in this case, the "first episode" refers to The Phantom Menace, which was something on a debacle on the silver screen. It's far more enjoyable here, however, and if you find that you're craving more after your romp with Obi-Wan, Jar Jar, and friends, you can buy the additional episodes separately. All total, if you buy the full set, you'll be paying around $18.99. Not bad, considering that you can take this accessible and enjoyable series anywhere you go.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look as though you'll be able to play it with the new third party Made for iPhone gamepads such as the Logitech PowerShell. But considering that the series prompted the creation of a dizzying array of other LEGO-inspired series, it's worth sampling the free download, and even if you couldn't stomach the Phantom Menace, you're likely to find some fun in its LEGO gaming counterpart.
