LEGO Universe, the build-a-thon massively multiplayer LEGO-themed game from NetDevil, has officially gone free-to-play! Well, sort of. You don't get full free access to the entire game.
The phrase "free-to-play is probably a misnomer here. The game isn't really that It's more like an unlimited demo. The way it will work is that you will be able to play for as long as you like in a couple of the game's zones, build your LEGO models from blocks you've collected and other activities. However, you wont be able to venture outside of those zones or gain full access to the game until you've subscribed.
You can download the game for free and give it a try if you'd like though. So in that sense it is somewhat free-to-play. The monthly subscription fee is $10, which you'll need to activate to access the entire game though. That said, if you've got kids it might be a good way to keep them busy for free some afternoon.
