Today on the App Store we've got a trio of interesting looking games coming to iOS devices, and with a group this varied there's got to be something for everyone here. For the hyper-violent crowd, the first-person shooter Painkiller: Purgatory is spraying blood all over the App Store. For the puzzle gamer there's an intriguing new game called Liqua Pop releasing today. And for the gamer who enjoys the strategy and grace involved in the fine art of cow tipping...well there's a game coming out today about cow tipping.
The first of these, Painkiller is the iOS adaptation of a relatively popular PC first-person shooter from 2004. The plot seems to be the same, but we're still not sure if it's a full port of all the levels and gameplay. Painkiller is known for its off-the-wall violent weaponry and all around gore.
Normally, we don't pay too close of attention to match-3 puzzlers anymore. The huge majority of them are late-to-the-party me-too titles that are trying to get a piece of the Bejeweled craze. Liqua Pop is different though. One look at it's delicious-looking gameplay and we were won over. We just hope the gameplay is just as innovative.
Finally we come to Cow Trouble, a game that's literally about cow tipping. It's not about sneaking onto a farm at night though. Farmer Diddle's cows have gotten out of the barn and gotten trapped up in the clouds. There's only one way to get them down...throw stuff at them until they fall off.
Painkiller and Liqua Pop have released on the New Zealand App Store which means they should find their way to North America within hours at most. Cow Tipping is already available.
