If you’re sick of hearing about iOS 4 and the new iPhone 4, here’s some good old-fashioned Mac news for you. It seems that talk show host Jimmy Kimmel had to resort to taping one of this week’s shows using his MacBook due to a power outage in his studio on Monday night.
E! Online is reporting on the unusual move for late-night chatfest Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which was all set to roll tape on Monday night when a power outage hit the studio, cutting off electricity to the lights, cameras and mics. But host Jimmy Kimmel took it all in stride, going with the old Hollywood belief that “The show must go on.”
“We had a power outage at the studio tonight,” the host tweeted on Monday. “No one was killed. Shot the whole show on my MacBook. It will air tomorrow night instead.”
Although Kimmel is a known prankster, this time it was no joke, as you can see from a pair of YouTube clips from the show which aired Tuesday night, featuring Seth Rogen, Wipeout star John Henson and country singer Dierks Bentley -- who, in the absence of electricity, went unplugged and put on an acoustic performance instead.
Never let it be said that Kimmel is one to disappoint an audience!
