It's been just over a month since Apple blessed us with some sweet, sweet Retina Display love on its new 15-inch MacBook Pro, during which time the online shipping estimates slipped to as long as four weeks. That situation is finally improving, but only by a little.
MacRumors notes that shipping estimate times for the MacBook Pro with Retina Display have finally improved on Apple's online store, shifting from the total bummer of three to four weeks to a less depressing two to three weeks -- basically, back where they started shortly after the Retina notebooks were launched just over a month ago.
The improved shipping estimates first popped up on Apple's Asia-Pacific markets, but have been quickly making their way around the world. The good news is, the improved estimates also seem to apply to custom-configured models -- we threw a MacBook Pro with Retina Display into our online cart and maxed it out and the shipping estimate didn't even blink.
Announced back on June 11, the MacBook Pro with Retina Display made its debut with shipping estimates around five days (and we actually received ours in only two days!), but quickly slipped to two to three weeks by the end of the first day and only got worse by the next day.
The shift back to two to three week availability is the first "improvement" since then, so MacBook Pro with Retina Display fans should take it as a sign that Apple is finally getting caught up.
