The cult hit, ultra-stylish adventure game from Amanita Design, Machinarium, will be getting an iPad version pretty soon, the developer announced today.
Machinarium is a point-and-click adventure game in the classic sense. You basically go around exploring the environments, solving puzzles and otherwise clicking on anything that could potentially have an action coded into it. It has been very well received by both fans and critics since its release in Fall 2009.
It holds a solid Metacritic score of 85 and even earned the Best Soundtrack of the Year award from Mac|Life sister publication PC Gamer.
"We want to bring it to iPad, but it won't happen soon as it's very complicated to rebuild the game with a completely new engine. Machinarium is built in Flash, and, as you probably know, Apple boycotted this format," said Jakub Dvorský, founder of Amanita design. "It's almost finished, but we still need to fix a lot of small bugs and test it properly. It should be ready during the next month...hopefully."
