When mention of the Mac App Store first came about, you might have had some feelings of uncertainty. How will this new venture translate over to our Macs? But worry no more. A familiar face in Mariner Software is ready to embrace the new Mac App Store tomorrow with open arms, by having six (count 'em six) apps ready to rock and roll at your disposal!
Minneapolis-based Mariner Software, who comes in with twenty years of experience of partnership with Apple, is planning on having six apps ready to go for tomorrow, and more will soon follow. The Mac App Store, like its iOS counterpart will let users browse Mac apps, purchase and then download them in one-step.
"Since we first learned of Apple's plans for the launch of the Mac App Store, our development team has been focused on preparing nearly our entire Mac OS X product line to be ready for sale," said Michael Wray, President of Mariner. "We are excited for the future of Mariner's presence in the Mac App Store." As are we!
Mariner developed and published a wide array of successful Mac OS X and iOS apps. Due to this, Mariner views the Mac App Store as yet another domestic reseller channel partner.
"For us to view the Mac App Store as anything more than a reseller at this point, is premature," notes Wray. "The potential for the Mac App Store is beyond imagination; however, from a developer perspective, there are just too many logistical unknowns early on. I'm sure Apple will streamline the process moving forward."
The Mac App Store will be available in 90 countries at the time of launch and will highlight apps ranging from categories to Education, Games, Graphics and Design, Lifestyle, Productivity and Utilities.
