2011 is right around the corner, and with it has come a series of New Year-themed apps, including one from popular men’s magazine Maxim, who have teamed up with developer Elite Gudz to create the free Champagne Popper app.
Elite Gudz has announced the availability of their free Maxim Champagne Popper, an interactive countdown and socially connected application for the iPhone. Usher in the New Year with style, and find some virtual gifts to send to your friends at the stroke of midnight -- the app even takes care of the heavy lifting, just in case you’re not sober enough to do it yourself when the big moment arrives.
“Maxim Champagne Popper is a free app that lets users celebrate New Years with a customized countdown on their mobile device,” the press release reads. “Choose from a variety of elegant bottles to shake, pop open and and share. The app can also send out a personalized message and champagne bottle gift to your friends. Select your gift, chose your contacts, write your message, and the app will send it through email at midnight on New Years.”
Among the features of the free iOS app are a “Digital Concierge” that sends your messages exactly at midnight, a countdown clock automatically set to your existing time zone, realistic shake, bubble and spray animations, festive music and sound effects and a variety of bottle and labels to choose from (available as 99-cent in-app purchases). Last but not least, you can connect with friends on Twitter and Facebook to share your New Year greetings.
Maxim Champagne Popper is a free 74.5MB download, compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad (the app is not universal, however), and requires iOS 3.0 or later.
