And that being the case, (Microsoft not making it's own hardware,) exactly who's products are they going to be selling in these stores...HP, Compaq, Dell, Toshiba, Sony? I mean seriously where is the competition coming from it's X-BOX and Zune? (Do they still even make the Zune?) Who are they competing against Apple or Wal-Mart?!? Is their "Genius Bar" going to tell you how to install Mac OS X on your Windows based computer? Are they going to tell you how to install Vista on your Apple Computer without it crashing, getting viruses and otherwise killing your Mac OS?!? Did Apple sign an agreement with them to sell Apples there as well?!? I can see it's genius bar now, so full that they will need a staff of about 50 employees with bachelors degrees in computer repair just to keep their appointments down to under a month to get something fixed on the computers people will be brining in and be smarter than the average kid that walks in to actually know something about why their computers are not working.

Sheez. With all that money and brainpower floating around the Microsoft campus, you'd think someone there could come up with at least ONE original idea.  As for a retail store dedicated to the PC and Windows, why not ask Gateway how well that concept worked for them.

So what if Microsoft is using Apple's store layouts to develop their own layout? I wouldn't want it any other way honestly. They used Mac as a basis for building their funny little OS (it is funny because I don't have to deal with the crashing, viruses, bloatware...) and normal folk can see the difference between the two pretty quickly. I'm guessing it will be very similar when they walk from a Windows/Microsoft store/showroom, to an Apple store. I'm not really all that afraid of the "competition". Of course I'm not running Apple nor their retail division.

M$ has been copying features in their OS from Apple for years...it was only a matter of time before they'd start copying other things too, but this is ridiculous.

Microsoft never known for elegant and simple. Even if they try their best to make their store like a Apple Store, it just going to look clutter and boring full of PC computer. Microsoft Store = Ford Dealership, Apple Store = Lexus Dealership.

I think this is too blatant a copy job, if it is eventually implemented, for anybody NOT to smell the bullshit. Well, copies never really are as good as the originals.
