Microsoft Store Briefly Reveals Surface RT Pricing, $499 for 32GB Model

While it's hard to imagine many iPad owners are waiting with anticipation to find out how much Microsoft's upcoming Surface tablet will cost, the company's own online store appears to have leaked the numbers ahead of its release.
The Verge is reporting that Microsoft's online store briefly revealed the pricing for its upcoming Surface with Windows RT tablet, which goes on sale October 26.
The 10.6-inch, 32GB Surface with Windows RT will set users back a cool $499 without Microsoft's coveted Touch Cover, with a bundle for both priced at $599, while a 64GB model with Touch Cover will go for $699.
It probably pays to grab either the Touch Cover or the Type Cover up front: Separately, they're going for $119 and $129, with the former available in white, red, black, blue or purple, while the latter is listed in black only.
The Microsoft Store listing was quickly yanked, but not before word of the pricing spread like wildlife across the internet on Tuesday morning. Redmond has no one to blame but itself for that, after introducing the Surface tablet almost four months ago and failing to mention a price, even a mere 10 days before launch.
