If there's one thing we've learned from watching episodes of "Intervention" on Hulu, it's this: you really don't take a user's drug of choice away, not even as a joke. Per a description on Appshopper.com, an iOS-compatible version of Minecraft (dubbed "Minecrafted") available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, appeared in the early hours and has been pulled from the U.S. App Store.
Although exact details are thin on the ground, it appears the Minecraft developer, Notch, caught wind of this and requested for the app to be removed. Apple apparently complied and the true-blue versions of the game remain accessible via minecraft.net with a Mac OS X version being readily available here.
Minecraft is a gaming phenomenon by Notch Development in which players must mine and build constructions of cubes to defend against roaming skeletons and other monsters. The game currently has a player base of over 500,000 registered users.
