There's really no denying that the original Tiki Towers, released in 2008, was a shameless, unabashed ripoff of indie sensation World of Goo. However, a strange thing has happened since then: we've stopped caring. It might have been a little obnoxious at first, but those adorable little monkeys soon destroyed any foul feelings we had towards the game.
Now we have word that the sequel has been released on the App Store, and this time we welcome our simian cousins with open arms.
If you're familiar with World of Goo then you know exactly how this series playss: you use a set of bamboo sticks and coconuts to build bridges and ladders so that your squad of chimps can reach the end of the level. It's a simple concept, but the monkeys mix things up a little bit. There are inevitable situations where your monkeys get too rough on a delicate portion of the structure, causing it to collapse. This reduced us to shouts of "Bad monkey! No!" on more than a few occasions.
Two years later, RealArcade is still dedicated to the franchise. The sequel is offering all kinds of monkey-fun for $2.99 (currently) including 30 new levels and improved graphics and user interface. If you're not quite sure about this one yet, you can check out the original game for $0.99.
