Now that you have HD-quality movies at home, take it a step further with the Blu-ray extras controlled by your iPhone or iPod touch. According to Home Media Magazine, Universal is expected to announce that iPhone and iPod touch users will be able to control extra features via their Web-connected Blu-ray players by downloading special apps from the iTunes App Store.
Once a customer downloads the app through the App Store, they'll get the ability to control special features on the upcoming release of the two-disc edition of Fast & Furious, which is priced at $39.98 and available July 28. The Blu-ray will be the first with the iPhone-controlled special features.
Users will be able to access extra features while watching movies and can "control interactive content on their Web-connected Blu-ray Disc players." Through their devices, users will have access the "Virtual Car Garage" bonus feature, allowing them to view the movie's characters and the cars' detailed specs.
