Multitasking on iPhones Made Easy

It's almost an article of faith among the in-the-know crowd that the
iPhone OS 4.0 will bring third party multitasking to the iPhone and
iPad. Steve-o claims it's just too much of a drain on the battery, while
other handset makers let their customers be big kids and make up their
own minds about power management.
Well, perhaps the competition
from Google phones might be enough to force the issue, and if it
doesn't, here's someone who's cracked the multitasking nut beautifully.
For
starters, a lot of people have wondered how the interface might work
for multitasking. What sort of features would it have, how would you
activate it, what would be in place to remind you of what's up and
running? Well, appadvice.come has found your solution.
Just for
jailbroken phones (and the reasons to jailbreak get more and more
compelling as time goes on), Circuitous is available through either
Cydia or Rock and lets you easily and intuitively control multitasking
on your iPhone. It delivers clear and simple controls and the dock
manifestation is the best use of iPhone screen space we've seen in some
time. Best of all, the app is free. That's right. Free, just like a
jailbroken iPhone is free to do with as you please.
Whatever the
kids in Cupertino have cooking up for iPhone OS 4.0, it'll be a
challenge to come up with something sleeker, cooler, and more
Mac-friendly than this app. Apple should take note of the names visible
in the copyright, because if they're no closer to putting together
something wonderful, they should give this fellow a call.
