We know, you’re chomping at the bit to get your hands on the official Steve Jobs biography coming March 6, 2012, but first the publisher and the author have to sort out exactly what the thing will be called -- and sometimes, the simplest title is the best one.
CNNMoney’s Apple 2.0 blog is reporting that the official biography on Apple CEO Steve Jobs is having some growing pains en route to its March 6, 2012 publication date. Initially announced as iSteve: The Book of Jobs, publisher Simon & Shuster appears to have a change of heart, and the book will now go by a much simpler and classic title.
“The old one, iSteve: The Book of Jobs, was chosen by Simon & Schuster's publicity department,” explains Philip Elmer-DeWitt on Monday. “The author, Walter Isaacson, was never quite sure about it. His wife and daughter, however, were. They thought it was too cutesy. And now Isaacson has persuaded his publisher to go with something simpler and more elegant.”
The new name is simply Steve Jobs, which pretty much tells you everything you need to know right there.
The unpublished work has already been available for preorder from Amazon in both hardcover and Kindle form, although you’ll have to actually wait until March 6, 2012 to get your hands on it. The preorder already popped once into the Top 50 on the e-tailer’s bestseller list, and we’re fairly certain you’ll see a lot more of that as the date gets closer.
