NBC and Time Warner Will Not Convert Videos to be iPad Friendly
In a move that will surely limit the number of television shows that iPad users can view on their mobile devices, NBC and Time Warner have told Apple that they have no plans to convert from Flash--the way they currently run their online video players.
The New York Post reports today that "several large media companies, including Time Warner and NBC Universal" told Apple that they had no plans to convert their video libraries into HTML5. Both companies agree that the move would be too expensive just to have their content viewable from Apple's iDevices.
It should be noted that this doesn't seem to be a company-wide movement in the Time Warner camp--CNN.com, for instance, has its most recently recorded videos already converted to HTML 5, and seems to be iPad friendly for the most part.

I thought the rumors were that Hulu is working on an iPad application for Hulu Prime or whatever its called.
So it makes sense that NBC won't be converting its videos, and that they would rather tie it to a dedicated application with a subscription.

they really are trying to get back to the Huxtable days when they ruled, eh? Someone, anyone, please tell me the last time you remember a smart move made by NBC...
